Intelligent Transportation Systems for Bydgoszcz

As a part of the tender for the “Intelligent Transportation Systems in Bydgoszcz” Public Roads and Transport Office commissioned delivery of central traffic and public transport management system. The project was co-financed by the EU’s Operational Programme Infrastructure and Environment 2007-2013.

The ITS in Bydgoszcz relies on interoperation of the following subsystems:
1. traffic control,
2. public transport management,
3. video surveillance,
4. alternative route guidance system,
5. parking information.

 

THE TRAFFIC CONTROL SUBSYSTEM

Subsystem is based on the adaptive, urban SPRINT/ITS/SCATS system. The system controls operation of 52 intersections with traffic lights installed: 45 modernized and seven new ones. On routes traversed by trams solutions granting them priority crossing through intersections were implemented. Additionally, traffic measurement stations, which collect data on traffic flowing into the area, and road meteorology stations were installed.


THE PUBLIC TRANSPORT MANAGEMENT SUBSYSTEM

Subsystem will enable implementation of tram traffic prioritization and real-time bus stop information. Trams were equipped with priority signal transmitters and passenger information displays were installed in 90 transport hubs. The subsystem is integrated with the passenger information system created during the construction of the tram line leading to the railway station. Also interactive kiosks with integrated ticket machines were installed.


THE VIDEO SURVEILLANCE SUBSYSTEM

Subsystem consists of over 90 cameras, incl.  CCTV cameras and cameras dedicated to automatic vehicle identification (AVI).


VARIABLE MESSAGE SIGNS

Alternative route guidance is accomplished by over 30 variable message signs (VMS) located in the area covered by the system. Traffic information is also available via a dedicated Internet portal. It relies on information collected by the AVI cameras operating within the video surveillance subsystem.


THE PARKING INFORMATION SUBSYSTEM

Subsystem consists of over 20 parking information displays. The displays show information about the occupancy of parking places in the sub-zone A of the Metered Parking Zone. In addition, parking meters were installed, and portable verification devices were delivered.


TRAFFIC CONTROL CENTRE

All subsystems are integrated by the Central Application installed at the Traffic Control Centre. The application displays status of system’s components and enables operators to access their functionality.

Intelligent Transportation System in Bielsko-Biała
Sprint completed the ITS system as part of a project called „Design, delivery, manufacturing and commissioning of the ITS system in the Bielsko-Biała street traffic”, which was part of an investment task called „Development of sustainable urban transport in Bielsko-Biała”. The main goal of its implementation was to improve traffic conditions for public transport vehicles and individual vehicles.
Intelligent Transportation Systems for Olsztyn
As a part of the tender procedure and project “Modernization and development of the integrated public transport system in Olsztyn” Sprint S.A. was contracted for implementation of the ITS.
Intelligent Transportation Systems for Łódź
As a part of the tender procedure for “Urban traffic control system” Sprint S.A. was contracted for implementation of the ITS. The contract amounted to over PLN 78 million tax included.
ITS in Wałbrzych
The Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) in Wałbrzych was implemented as part of the project entitled "Low emission reduction through the introduction of sustainable urban and suburban mobility, consisting in the construction of the Wałbrzych Plac na Rozdrożu transfer center, and the improvement of traffic management systems and energy-efficient urban lighting".
Equipping streetcars in Olsztyn
As a result of the tender procedure for the supply of streetcars to Olsztyn, which was settled in July 2019, a contract was signed between the Municipality of Olsztyn and the Turkish company Durmazlar.
Maintenance of traffic lights in Warsaw
Our largest contract for maintenance of public infrastructure in terms of "Ongoing maintenance, preservation and adaptation to the needs of users of traffic light devices on the territory of the Capital City of Warsaw in four independent areas” project, carried out for the Municipal Road Authority in Warsaw.
Maintenance Contract for ITS in Łódź and Bydgoszcz
Participation of our Service Department employees in the ITS System implementation phase, helps to quickly narrow down the scope of activities so that the time saved can be spent on effective problem solving.
ITS for Tarnów
Upon the order of the Municipality of Tarnów - Roads and Transport Management Board in Tarnów, we implemented the investment named "Delivery and launch of the Intelligent Transport System of the city of Tarnów (ITS System)". This order was completed in the period between March 2019 and the end of 2020.
ITS in Chorzów
At the beginning of February 2018, one of the most significant investments in Chorzów in recent years was launched: the ITS system construction.
ITS extension in Bielsko-Biała
The second stage of expansion of the Traffic Management System in Bielsko-Biała has been completed. Both stages of ITS implementation were co-financed by the European Union under the Regional Operational Programme of the Silesian Voivodeship for 2014-2020.

Contract for implementation of Intelligent Transport System in Pabianice

The works with a joint value of almost PLN 7 million will be completed within a year. Their effect will be, among others, installation of information boards at bus stops, video monitoring and launching applications for inhabitants.

The development of the tramway network in Olsztyn begins

The new infrastructure will include about six kilometers of double track. Along with the construction of the new streetcar line, there will be 13 new stops in the city.

Sprint will equip Olsztyn trams from Turkish manufacturer

Sprint, under the contract signed with Durmazlar, will provide comprehensive equipment for trams, as well as support in the field of installation and start-up.

Expansion of Intelligent Transport Systems in Bielsko-Biała

This is our next project in this city. As a reminder, in August 2018, the first stage of building the Intelligent Transportation System was completed.

New investment in Opole. On January 10, 2020, the city authorities and Sprint representatives signed a contract for the construction of an Intelligent Transport System (ITS).
