In July2019, as a result of the tender proceedings, an agreement was signed between the Municipality of Olsztyn and the Turkish company Durmazlar, under which the Turkish manufacturer will supply 12 trams to Olsztyn. The agreement also guarantees the possibility of orderingfor another 12 cars by the Municipality.
Sprint, under the contract signed with Durmazlar, will provide comprehensive equipment for trams, as well as support in the field of installation and start-up. The implementation of the task consists of several stages, in particular:
- partial design of the vehicle in the range of equipment supplied, final selection of equipment and determination of full functionality for all systems;
- equipment acquisition, preparation for shipment;
- help with installation and performance check;
- installation and start-up training for subsequent vehicles.
The Turkish company has not yet delivered trams to the European market, and Sprint will be responsible for equipping and commissioning equipment and systems that have partially never been installed in Durmazlar vehicles.
Implementation of the task is planned for September and October 2020 (the first 12 cars).
